District Democrats to Gather to Cast Gubernatorial-Preference Ballot, Select Convention Delegates, Debate Party Platform, and Elect Precinct Chairs

Attendees will have the opportunity to run and vote for delegates supporting specific candidates or issues to represent the precinct at the upcoming district convention on March 16, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Anoka High School. There will also be an opportunity to introduce and debate resolutions for possible inclusion in the Minnesota DFL Party’s platform, and elect precinct chairs for the next two years.

The caucuses will begin at 7:00 p.m. Gubernatorial-preference balloting will conclude at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Ballots may only be cast in person; no absentee balloting is allowed.

Anyone who will be eligible to vote in Minnesota by November 2, 2010 may vote in the gubernatorial-preference ballot. Anyone age 16 or over may participate in caucus business.

Though the end of the 2009 session of the Minnesota State Legislature is disappointing to many in the DFL, Senate District 48 DFL is just beginning.

We are proud to announce that we are pursuing a new Action Plan to contribute more and to expand our influence for our constituents in the communities of Anoka, Ramsey, Elk River, Nowthen, Oak Grove, Bethel, and East Bethel. This website and blog is one of the first steps toward encouraging public participation and interaction in our initiatives, moreover, to encourage citizen-driven community initiatives to effect change where change is needed.
